Constructing Rainbows advises built environment organisations who have an aim of making our industry inclusive for all. This newsletter will provide you with some updates on what others are doing, both within the built environment and in other industries.
The chief executives of Crossrail and Mace have both made commitments to make their organisations more inclusive in social media posts commenting on the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement.
The CLC published their Roadmap to Recovery last week. A big focus on financials, very little on skills, and no mention of diversity and inclusion. Do we want to rush back to the status quo? Or do we want a "new normal" incorporating diverse voices, opinions and ideas? Employers need to start having meaningful conversations about conditions such as autism, ADHD and dyslexia if they are to make a real difference when it comes to inclusion, according to a neurodiversity consultant.
